The Life of Andrew "Thib" L Broussard
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 30, 2011, at a 10:30 AM Mass of Christian Burial in La Chapelle de Martin & Castille in Lafayette, for Andrew "Tib" Broussard, 83, who passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 27, 2011 at Cornerstone Village South in Lafayette.
Interment will be in Holy Mary Mother of God Cemetery.
Reverend Gary Schexnayder, Pastor of St. Michael the Archangel Church in Crowley, will be the Celebrant of the Funeral Mass and will conduct the funeral services. Giftbearers will be Jennifer Garcille and Jason Garcille. Lectors will be Brenda Maturin and Jennifer Garcille. Jodi Bollich, organist and soloist, accompanied by Wil Green, trumpeter, will sing "The Old Rugged Cross", "How Great Thou Art", "Our Father", "J'irai la voir un jour" and "Wind Beneath My Wings" for the services.
Survivors include his beloved wife, Faye Duhon Broussard of Duson; one son, Tommy Broussard of Fort Worth, TX; and two brothers, June Broussard and his wife Jane and Floyd Broussard and his wife Debbie.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lovely J. and Terez Sonnier Broussard; one brother, Alex Broussard; and one sister, Dorothy Credeur.
Andrew Broussard was a WWII Veteran, local farmer and business man. He also served as a member on the Lafayette Parish Police Jury for eight years and was active in local governmental affairs throughout his life. When he retired from farming, he entered the home building business and also owned a local grocery store in Judice. He donated time and money for the construction of St. Basil Church and the Acadian Village, but mostly he was charitable helping anyone who would ask. Mr. Broussard will be greatly missed by his family, friends and all who knew and loved him.
Pallbearers will be Keith Broussard, Drake Broussard, Scott Broussard, Karl Credeur, Shelly Maturin and Jason Garcille.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Harold Domingue, Leeward Credeur and Glen Maturin.
The family requests that visitation be observed in Martin & Castille's DOWNTOWN Lafayette location on Tuesday, March 29, 2011 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Wednesday from 8:00 AM until time of service.
A Rosary will be prayed on Tuesday at 6:30 PM in Martin & Castille Funeral Home.
