The Life of Joycelyn Marie Farmer
Funeral Services will be held at an 11:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, July 24, 2010 at St. Pius X Catholic Church for Joycelyn Marie Farmer, 75, who passed away on July 21, 2010 at her residence.
Reverend Steve Leblanc, Pastor of St. Pius X Catholic Church will be Celebrant of the Mass and will conduct the funeral services. Reverend Paul Metrejean will con-celebrate.
Entombment will take place in Lafayette Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mrs. Farmer, a resident of Lafayette, LA, was the daughter of the late Thomas Lavergne and the former Gussie Metrejean, both of St. Landry Parish, Louisiana. She was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church.
She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Warren Richard ''Dick'' Farmer, III; one daughter, Donna Kimball and husband, Craig; two sons, Warren Richard "Rick" Farmer, IV and wife, Patsy and David "Grumpy" Farmer and wife, Suzanne; three grandchildren, Jillian Nicole Ledet and husband, Jeremy, Lacey Eve Farmer, Christopher Patrick Kimball; four step-grandchildren, Taylor Kimball, Joshua Reagan, Alicia Berry and Bess Brown; one sister, Earline Lavergne Landry; one sister-in-law, Sarah Carolyn Farmer Durio and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Mrs. Farmer graduated from Opelousas Catholic and from St. Mary''s Nursing School in Port Arthur, TX. She worked as a registered nurse and kindergarten teacher but was most known as a devoted and loving wife and mother.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed on at Delhomme Funeral Home of Lafayette Friday, July 23, 2010 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm and will continue on Saturday from 8:00 am until time of service.
A rosary will be recited by the Knights of Columbus on Friday at 7:00 pm.
Pallbearers will be Christopher Kimball, Taylor Kimball, Jeremy Ledet, Craig Kimball, Joshua Reagan and Robert Landry.
Delhomme Funeral Home, 1011 Bertrand Drive, Lafayette, is in charge of funeral arrangements.
