The Life of Wilfred Pierre Cormier

Funeral services will be held at a 2:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial on Monday, May 15, 2006 in St. Mary Catholic Church in Lafayette for Wilfred Pierre Cormier, age 88, who passed away on Saturday, May 13, 2006 at 11:30 a.m. in Lafayette. Rev. Robie Robichaux, JCL, pastor of St. Mary Catholic Church in Lafayette will officiate at the funeral services. Interment will be in Holy Mary, Mother of God Cemetery in Lafayette. Mr. Cormier, son of the late Pierre Cormier and the former Cecile Guillot, was a native of Maurice and a resident of Lafayette. He was a retired school teacher with twenty-two years of service. He taught at Carencro High School, N.P. Moss, and Northside High School. Survivors include his wife, the former Amy Lantier; one daughter, Arlene Barcellona and her husband, Russell, of Baton Rouge; one son, Eddie Cormier of Fort Smith, Arkansas; one step son, Bradley Roy and his wife, Connie; eight grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; and one sister, Cecile Melancon of Port Arthur, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents and three sisters, Mrs. Olita Baudoin, Mrs. Lawrence Breaux, and Lydia Foreman. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Sunday and will continue on Monday from 8:00 a.m. until service time. The family would like to give special thanks to the staff of Community Specialty Hospital and also the 9th floor staff at Lafayette General Medical Center Delhomme Funeral Home, 1011 Bertrand Drive, Lafayette, is in charge of all funeral arrangements
