The Life of Frank Joseph Resweber

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 4, 2006 at a 1:00 PM Mass of Christian Burial in La Chapelle de Martin & Castille for Frank Joseph Resweber, 86, who passed away on Monday, May 1, 2006 at Lafayette General Medical CenterEntombment will take place in Holy, Mary, Mother of God Mausoleum.Reverend O. Joseph Breaux, pastor, St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, will be the Celebrant of the funeral Mass and will conduct the funeral services. Jodi Bollich, Organist and Soloist, will perform for the services, "Here I Am Lord", "You Are Near", "I Shall See You Soon Again", "The Lord Is My Light and Salvation" and "On Eagle''s Wings''". Survivors include his one daughter, Jeanie R. Viator and her husband, Calvin of Thibodeaux, LA; two sons, Russell J. Resweber of Baton Rouge and Albert "Bert" Resweber and his wife, Mary Sue of Lafayette; one sister, Joyce R. Broussard and her husband, Frank of Lafayette; nine grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Barbara Gardiner Resweber, parents, Camellia Champagne Resweber and Albert Resweber; one son, Richard Ellis "Rick" Resweber; four brothers, Raymond, Albert, James and Ellis Resweber and one sister, Ruth R. Presburg.A native of Port Barre, Louisiana and a lifelong resident of Lafayette, Mr. Resweber was a retired veteran of military service, having served in the United States Army Air Corps during World War II as a captain. He was a member of the 48th fighter Squadrom of the U.S. Army Air Corps where he was deployed to the European Theater in North Africa and Italy where he was a ground crew chief for P38''s fighters.Mr. Resweber retired from Pointe Coupee Lumber Company after 31 1/2 years of service as a manager. He was a former member and past president of the 48 Fighter Squadrom Association and the Acadiana Home Builders Association. Pallbearers will be Brad Resweber, Bret Resweber, Blaine Viator, Van Viator, Chris Chase and Davis Dicharry.The family requests that visitation be observed Thursday from 9:00 AM unti time of the services on Thursday.Martin & Castille Funeral Home, Inc. of Lafayette has been chosen to help with the arrangements.337-234-2311.
