The Life of Della Chiasson
Funeral services will be held on Monday, May 8, 2006 at a 10:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial in La Chapelle de Martin & Castille for Della Chiasson, age 93, the former Della Credeur, who died on Friday, May 5, 2006 at 11:40 PM at Lady of the Oaks Retirement Manor.Interment will be in the Lafayette Memorial Park Cemetery.Reverend Keith J. DeRouen, Rector of Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist, will be the Celebrant of the funeral Mass and will conduct the funeral services. Jodi Bollich, organist and soloist, will sing for the services, "Amazing Grace", "Hail Mary, Gentle Woman", "Be Not Afraid" and "Ave Maria"Survivors include her sisters, Edesse C. Credeur and her husband, Sidney of Duson, and Medice C. Waguespack; and one brother, Gilford Credeur and his wife, Mary of Scott.She was preceded in death by her loving parents, Onezima Creduer and Belzire Trahan Credeur; her spouse, Clebe Chiasson; and three sisters, Ida C. Leon, Viney C. Miller, and Bernice Credeur.A native of Acadia Parish, and resident of Lafayette, Louisiana for most of her life, Mrs. Chiasson was a loving daughter, wife, sister and friend to all who knew her. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.A Rosary will be prayed on Sunday at 5:00 PM in Martin & Castille Funeral Home in Lafayette.The family requests that visiting hours will be observed on Sunday from 2:00 PM until 8:00PM and on Monday from 8:00 AM until time of services.
