The Life of Martina Mouisset
Funeral services will be held at a 10:00 am Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday, November 20, 2008 in the Delhomme Chapel of the Flowers for Martina Wiltz Mouisset, 96, who passed away on Tuesday, November 18, 2008 at Courtyard Manor.
Reverend John Deleeuw, will be Celebrant of the Mass and will conduct the funeral services.
Interment will take place in Lafayette Memorial Park.
Ms. Mouisset, a resident of Lafayette, was the daughter of the late Dautrive Wiltz of St. Martin Parish and the former Aureline Usie of Breaux Bridge. She was a member of St. Leo the Great Catholic Church.
She was one of the founders of the Parents'' Study Group (for the exceptional or handicapped children), which began in 1951. She served in different positions in the group and remained very active as the group evolved into the Johnny Scott Center then on to LARC and Civitan Mothers Club.
Some of the fondest memories were family gatherings around the kitchen table. She was a great cook, devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
She is survived by two daughters; Claudette Mouisset Varisco and her husband, Paul and Nancy Mouisset Prejean Credeur; one son, Gerald Joseph Mouisset; three grandchildren, Dana Varisco, Christine Varisco Guidry and Deborah Prejean Credeur; four great-grandchildren; and six great great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Joseph Mouisset; one brother; and three sisters.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed on Wednesday from 2:00 pm until 8:00 pm and on Thursday from 8:00 am until time of service at Delhomme Funeral Home of Lafayette.
A rosary will be recited at 6:00 pm on Wednesday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be members of her family.
