The Life of Phillip Theodore Lalande

Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 24, 2007 at a 1:00 PM Mass of Christian Burial in Holy Cross Catholic Church in Lafayette for Phillip Theodore Lalande, 58, who passed away peacefully in Lafayette, Louisiana on Tuesday, August 21, 2007.Interment will follow in Holy Mary Mother of God Cemetery.Reverend Howard Blessing, Pastor of Holy Cross Catholic Church, will be the Celebrant of the funeral Mass and will conduct the funeral services. Jodi Bollich, organist and soloist, will sing for the services, "Angel", "Taste and See", "How Great Thou Art", "Be Not Afraid", and "Wind Beneath My Wings". Eulogist will be Senator Craig Romero.He is survived by his beloved wife, Joan Weatherly Lalande; one son, Theodore "Tad" Dennie Lalande; two daughters, Margaret Ann Lalande and Sarah Katherine Lalande; two sisters, Julie Lalande Prado and her husband, Raul Prado, and Denise Lalande Duplantis and her husband, Norman Duplantis.He was preceded in death by his parents, T. D. Lalande and Fenella Lalande Bollinger.A native of Lockport, Louisiana and resident of Lafayette for most of his life, Mr. Lalande was a loving husband, father, brother and friend to all who knew him. He was employed as a former Vice President of Stone Energy in Lafayette, and was currently employed as the Managing partner of Flex Energy. He loved his family, especially his wife, and children whom he adored. Mr. Lalande enjoyed work, hunting, fishing, and his beloved dogs. He truly lived his life to the fullest and will be sadly missed by family and numerous friends.Pallbearers will be John Danser, Cotton Andrus, Mike Maraist, Glynn Maturin, Boysie Bollinger, Bob Gibbens, Butch Scelfo, and Dr. Andre'' Duplantis. Honorary pallbearers will be Steve Parra, Joe Noel, Joe Klutts, Ralph Bell, John Cook, Ted Breaux, Frank Clement, Greg Berwick, Jim Hunter, Max Guidry, and Buddy Rupe.A Rosary will be prayed on Thursday, August 23, 2007 at 7:30 PM in Martin & Castille Funeral Home in Lafayette.The family requests that visitation be observed on Thursday from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM and on Friday from 8:00 AM until time of services.In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Mr. Lalande''s name to the American Heart Association 312 Guilbeau Road Suite C Lafayette, Louisiana 70506, or to the Delta Waterfowl Foundation,107 Rue Beau Soleil Broussard, Louisiana 70518 Martin & Castille - Lafayette, 337-234-2311
