The Life of Mercedes Todd

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Wednesday, September 19, 2007 in the Delhomme Chapel in Broussard for Mercedes Duplechain Todd, 72, who passed away Sunday, September 16, 2007 at her residence. Brother Donald Weber, Rector of The Pentecostal of Lafayette, will conduct the funeral services. Interment will take place in Lafayette Memorial Park. Mrs. Todd was the daughter of the late Abel Duplechain of Oberlin and the former Alida Johnson of Eunice. She was a native of Eunice and longtime resident of Broussard. She loved fishing with Elizabeth. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Survivors include three daughters, Pamela Todd and friend, Wesley Noble of Oklahoma, Terri T. Robin and friend, Ernest Lynn Tillery of Breaux Bridge, and Sharon T. Fisher and husband, Benny of Coteau; one son, Randall K. Todd and wife, Christine of Scott; seven grandchildren, Jeremy Pellegran and wife, Katie, Josselyn Pellegran, Corey, Casey and Zachary Robin, Brad Viator and wife, Casey, and Jessica Fisher Courteaux and husband, Johnny; three great grandchildren, Dakota James and Kaleb John Courteaux, and Dylan Michael Viator; one brother, Lionel Duplechain and wife, Leta; and one sister, Judy Rutherford. She was preceded in death by her parents, spouse, Wesley Ernest Todd, Jr.; three brothers, Daniel, Felix and Colton Duplechain; and one sister, Mildred Wyatt. The family requests that visiting hours be observed Tuesday from 11:00 am until 10:00 pm and continue Wednesday from 8:00 am until time of service. Pallbearers will be Brad Viator, Casey Robin, Zachary Robin, Jeremy Pellegran, Johnny Courteaux, and Brady Dugas. Honorary pallbearer will be Corey Robin. The family wished to give sincere heartfelt thanks to Hospice of Acadiana. Delhomme Funeral Home, 11 North Washington Street, Broussard is in charge of funeral arrangements.
