The Life of Janet Mae Lantier
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, December 27, 2008 at Delhomme Chapel of the Flowers for Janet Mae Lantier, 68, who passed away on December 23, 2008 at 2:00PM at her Residence.
Reverend Dennis Malcolm, Pastor of Trinity Bible Church, will conduct the funeral services.
Burial will take place in Lafayette Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mrs. Lantier, a resident of Scott, LA, was the daughter of the late Richard Mead and the former Marilois Crow of Terre Haute, IN. Janet was employed by the Lafayette Parish School System and retired from the Jefferson Parish School System. Janet was an educator for over thirty years teaching at many different schools in Lafayette and Jefferson Parish. She taught Gifted and Talented at Plantation Elementary and Pittman Elementary in Jefferson Parish. She was recognized as teacher of the year at Prairie Elementary. She also was a principal at Children’s Community School and taught at USL. Janet was an inspiration to many people. She was a member of Trinity Bible Church where she was a prayer warrior and found great pleasure in sharing her strong faith with all. She enjoyed being around friends and family especially her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, P. Nelson Lantier; one daughter, Janell Lantier Doucet and her husband Chad; one son, Andre Paul Lantier; eight grandchildren, Jocy Doucet, Grace Ann Doucet, Marina Doucet, Skye Romero, Baileigh Meche, Courtney Lantier, Caitlan Lantier and Brennan Lantier; two brothers, Robert and Rick Mead.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed on Friday, December 26, 2008 from 12:00 Noon to 8:00 pm and resume on Saturday from 8:00 am until time of service at Delhomme Funeral Home of Lafayette. Mrs. Lantier's family would like to thank Hospice of Acadiana, especially Jill, Doris and Jo, and Drs. Kain and Salopek for their care during her illness.
