The Life of Alfred Leo Bonnet
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 11, 2007 at an 11:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial in St. Pius X Catholic Church in Lafayette for Alfred Leo Bonnet, 68, who passed away on Sunday, April 8, 2007 at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center in Lafayette.Interment will be in Lafayette Memorial Park Cemetery.Reverend Thomas Kamenski, Chaplain of Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, will be the Celebrant of the funeral Mass and will conduct the funeral services. Karen Broussard, organist and soloist, accompanied by Heather Istre, floutist, will perform for the services, "Amazing Grace", "I Have Loved You", "You Are Near", and "Be Not Afraid".Survivors include his beloved wife of 48 years, Earline B. Bonnet of Lafayette; two daughters, Maydee Chiasson and her husband, Dale of Metairie, LA. and Colleen Begnaud and her husband, Toby of Youngsville, LA.; one son, Allen Bonnet and his wife, Lisa of Lafayette, LA.; four grandchildren Jennifer Bonnet, Dylan Begnaud, Carley Begnaud, and Cameron Chiasson; one sister, Irene Hoffpauir of Lake Charles, LA.; and one brother, Russell Bonnet of Scott, LA.He was preceded in death by his parents, Leo Bonnet and Lifdie Prejean Bonnet; one brother, John Earl Bonnet; and one sister, Nora Lee Bonnet Williams.A native and lifelong resident of Lafayette, Louisiana, Mr. Bonnet was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend to all who knew him. He was a dedicated employee of Slemco for 30 years until his retirement. Mr. Bonnet enjoyed woodworking, and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, whom he adored. He was a special person in the heart of his family and friends, and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.A Rosary will be prayed on Tuesday, April 10, 2007 at 7:00 PM in Martin & Castille Funeral Home in Lafayette.The family requests that visitation be observed on Tuesday from 4:00 PM to 10:00 PM and on Wednesday from 8:00 AM until time of funeral services.
