The Life of Carl William Marum Jr.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, August 18, 2007 in the Delhomme Chapel of the Flowers for Carl William Marum, Jr., 79, who passed away Wednesday, August 15, 2007 at Meadow Brook Specialty Hospital in Lafayette.

Reverend Bill Walker, Pastor of Southside Bible Chapel in Lafayette will officiate the funeral services.

Interment will take place in Lafayette Memorial Park in Lafayette.

Mr. Marum, the son of the late Carl William Marum, Sr. and the former Lydia Larsen, both of Brooklyn, N.Y., was a native of Brooklyn, N.Y. He resided in Evanston, IL for fifty years until retirement to Lafayette, LA. He was a veteran of the military having served in the U.S. Army. Mr. Marum served twenty five years of distinguished service with the Boy Scouts of America receiving the Silver Beaver Award. He was a member of Southside Bible Chapel. He retired from G.D. Searle in Evanston, IL.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara Marum; one daughter, Anne Whitney and husband, Michael of Lockport, IL, three sons, Charles Marum and wife, Diann of Augusta, GA, Carl Walter Marum of Lafayette, LA, and David Marum and wife, Catherine of Roy, UT; two grandchildren, Jennifer and Jessica Marum; five step-grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl William Marum, Sr. and Lydia Larsen.

Visiting hours will be observed on Friday from 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm and will continue on Saturday from 11:00 am until the time of services.

Delhomme Funeral Home 1011 Bertrand Drive, Lafayette is in charge of funeral arrangements.
