Lucy always said that she never moved to a new location that she didn't learn to love, and for that she acquired many loyal and lifetime friends. She was a longtime member of Asbury Methodist Church and a member of the Challengers Sunday School Class. For many years, she was a member of the Chez Amis Women Club where she held many positions. Lucy was a wonderful gardener as seen by the beautiful flowers in and around her house. She got to share her love of gardening as a member of the Budwatchers Garden Club where she held many positions throughout the years. Having been born on the fourth of July, Lucy showed her patriotism as a loyal and proud member of the Freedom Bell Society where she was required to ring her bell at noon on the Fourth and at midnight on New Year's Eve. Her grandchildren will proudly carry on that tradition. The family would like to thank Dr. James Cole, M.D., Felicia Case, P.A., and the wonderful nurses and staff of Louisiana Oncology for their care of Lucy during her long battle. Also thanks to Dr. Morris Hoffpauir, M.D. and the staff and aids of Hospice of Acadiana. A very special thanks to Dr. David McManus and family for their loving care of Lucy.
