The Life of Mr. Ronald James Brasseaux

Funeral Services will be held at a 1:00 pm Mass of Christian Burial on Monday, November 9, 2009 at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church for Ronald "Ronnie" James Brasseaux, 67, who passed away on November 6, 2009 at 5:50 PM at Magnolia Estates. Reverend Thomas P. Voorhies, Pastor of Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, will be Celebrant of the Mass and will conduct the funeral services. Burial will take place in Lafayette Memorial Park Cemetery. Mr. Brasseaux, a resident of Lafayette, Louisiana, was the son of the late Romain Brasseaux of Opelousas, Louisiana and the former Callie Prudhomme of Opelousas, Louisiana. He was a member of Sts. Peter & Paul Church. He was employed by Abdallas as a shoe salesman for 13 years and retired from Coca-Cola in 1992. He was a member of the Marine Corps League and proud member of AA since 1972-"One Day At A Time". Upon his retirement, he enjoyed volunteering at The Tourist Center in Lafayette and Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital. He was an avid cheerleader for Teurlings, UL Lafayette and New Orleans Saints fan. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Brenda Faye Benoit Brasseaux, one daughter, Denise Marie Brasseaux Richard and husband Daniel Richard Jr. of Arnaudville, one son, Kevin James Brasseaux and wife Connie Romero Brasseaux of Murphy, Tx, one sister, Audrey Aguillard of Opelousas, five grandchildren, Christopher Lee Brasseaux, Lindsey Renee Richard, Lainey Elizabeth Richard, Landon Daniel Richard and Corey James Brasseaux. He was preceded in death by his his parents, one brother, Gerald Brasseaux and one sister, Vera Miller. The family requests that visiting hours be observed on Sunday, November 8, 2009 from 3:00 pm to 9:00 pm and on Monday from 8:00 am until the time of services. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm at the funeral home at Delhomme Funeral Home of Scott. Pallbearers will be Kevin Brasseaux, Daniel Richard, Christopher Brasseaux, Michael Vallot, Jonathan Beadle and Louis Dugas. Honorary Pallbearers will be Landon Richard, Corey Brasseaux, Rod Bernard.
