The Life of Joseph Elodias Romero Sr.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Monday, March 19, 2007 in the Delhomme Chapel of the Flowers for Joseph Elodias Romero, Sr., 85, who passed away Friday, March 16, 2007 at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Center.

Interment will take place in Lafayette Memorial Park Cemetery in Lafayette.

Very Rev. Msgr. J. Robert Romero, VE, Pastor of St. Landry Catholic Church in Opelousas will officiate at the funeral services.

Mr. Romero, the son of the late Aurelie Romero and the former Melasie Mary Guilliot, was a native of Vermilion Parish and resident of Breaux Bridge. He was a veteran of the military, having served in the U.S. Navy during WWII.

Survivors include his wife, Annie Mae Romero; one daughter, Glenda Romero; two sons, Weston J. Romero, Sr., and Sheldon C. Romero, Sr. and wife, Dianna; sixteen grandchildren; twenty three great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and one sister, Annie Mae Gisclair.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, E.J. Romero, Jr.; and two brothers.

Visiting hours will be observed on Sunday from 9:00 am to 10:00 pm and will continue on Monday from 8:00 am until the time of service in the funeral home.

A rosary will be prayed at 7:30 pm by Very Rev. Msgr. J. Robert Romero in the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be his grandsons.

Delhomme Funeral Home, 1011 Bertrand Drive, Lafayette is in charge of funeral arrangements.
