The Life of Elaine DeJean
Funeral services will be held at a 1:00 pm Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, March 13, 2009 in the Delhomme Chapel of the Flowers for Elaine Dejean, 76, who passed away on March 10, 2009 at her residence.
Reverend Monsignor Douglas Courville, Pastor of St. Martin de Tours Church in St. Martinville, will be the Celebrant of the Mass and will conduct the funeral services.
Burial will take place in Lafayette Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mrs. Dejean, a resident of Lafayette, LA, was the daughter of the late Anatole Chastant of Loreauville, LA and the former Lydia Broussard of Lafayette, LA. She retired from the William H. Mouton law firm after 30 years of service. She loved cooking, camping and entertaining.
She is survived by one daughter, Patti Breaux and husband, John of Lafayette, LA; one daughter in law, Lisa Pastor of Loreauville ,LA; three sisters, Jeanette Bender and husband Ralph of Lafayette, LA; Gayle Terrebonne and James Montgomery of Lafayette, LA; and Karen Kemzuro of Lafayette, LA; two brothers, Lloyd Chastant and wife Jan of Maryland; and Earl Chastant and wife Ann of Pineville, LA. Grandchildren, Megan and Jeremy Breaux, Ryan Pastor, Nicole Melancon, and Blake Romero; six great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews and one Aunt, "Coe" Broussard of New Iberia, LA.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Henry DeJean; Father of her children, M.A. "Mike" Pastor and one son, Mike Pastor.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed on Thursday, March 12, 2009 from 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm and continue on Friday at 8:00 am until time of service at Delhomme Funeral Home of Lafayette.
A Rosary will be recited at 7:00 PM Thursday evening at Delhomme Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Jeremy Breaux, Ryan Pastor, Earl Chastant, James Montgomery, Ralph Bender, and Alcee "Boy" Dronet. Honorary Pallbearers will be John Breaux, Art Mouton, Brian Terrebonne, and Billy Mouton.
Delhomme Funeral Home, 1011 Bertrand Drive, Lafayette, is in charge of funeral arrangements.
