The Life of Novella Murchison

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 pm Tuesday, February 19, 2008 in the Lafayette Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel for Novella Campbell Murchison, 84, who went to be with the Lord, Saturday, February 16, 2008 at Lafayette General Medical Center.

Reverend Ted Standley, Pastor of First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), will conduct the funeral services.

Interment will take place in Lafayette Memorial Park.

Novella, the daughter of the late Gordon Campbell and the former Euri Edwin West, both of Cooke County, TX, was a native of Archer County, TX and a resident of Lafayette. She was an active member of the First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Lafayette. She was a former member of Oakbourne Country Club where she won several golfing awards. She worked as a registered nurse for several years and enjoyed gardening.

Survivors include her three sons, James B. Murchison and wife, Sherrie of Lafayette, Mark Murchison and wife, Brigitte of Mandeville, and David Murchison of Lafayette; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two nieces, Jeanie Graham, and Ellen Cox; and nephew, Calvin Ivie.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Gordon Campbell and Euri Edwin West; her husband, George Murchison; her two sisters, Inez Bratt and Geneva Ivie; her brother, Grahm Campbell; and her great-grandson.

Pallbearers will be Mark Murchison, James Murchison, Ryan Murchison, Ian Murchison, and Bobby Stander.

The family request visiting hours be observed on Tuesday from 10:00 am until the time of service.
