The Life of Peggy Genine Perron

Funeral services will be held Monday, March 1, 2010 at 2:00 PM in the Delhomme Funeral Home for Peggy Genine Douglas Perron who passed away on February 27, 2010. Deacon Roderick Perron, Sr. will officiate. Interment will take place in Holy Mary, Mother of God Cemetery. Peggy was born September 1, 1931 in Nashville TN to Carl and Lily Douglas. She was a Navy nurse when she met her husband of 25 years, Dr. Roderick Perron while both were stationed in Hawaii. After living in France, Germany and California, the coupled settled in Mamou, Louisiana until 1978 when she moved to Lafayette. She was a selfless nurse and devoted to the profession for over 50 years. Survivors include her five children, Paula Perron, Carla and her husband Joe House, Lisa and her husband Mark Joubert, Roderick Paul Perron, Jr. ''Roddy'' and Sean Christopher Perron; seven grandchildren and one step grandchild, Douglas and his wife Stacy, Aimee and her husband Trent Frierson, Kimberly and her husband Brent Bonvillain, Joshua McGown, Christina Perron, Keith ''K. J.'' Leblanc, Chase Joubert and Ben House, and five precious great-grandchildren, Chloe and Reese Perron, Lily Frierson, and Brennly and Uriah Bonvillain. She also leaves many cherished memories with her brother, Carl Douglas, Jr. ''Sonny'' and his wife Noel. She was preceded in death by her parents. The family requests that visiting hours be observed Monday from 11:00 am to time of services. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Peggy''s name to the Susan G. Komen Foundation. Delhomme Funeral Home, 1011 Bertrand Drive, is in charge of all funeral arrangements.
