The Life of Eula Marie LeBlanc

Funeral Services will be held at a 9:30 am Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday, December 16, 2009 in the Delhomme Chapel of the Flowers for Eula Marie LeBlanc, 89, who passed away on December 14, 2009 at 2:10 am at Maison De Lafayette.

Reverend Monsignor Keith J. DeRouen, Pastor of Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist, will be Celebrant of the Mass and will conduct the funeral services.

Her grandson, Troy Hebert, will do the readings and her daughters, Diana Hebert and Mardell Broussard, will serve as gift bearers.

Burial will take place in Lafayette Memorial Park Cemetery.

Mrs. LeBlanc, a resident of Lafayette, was the daughter of the late Antoine Menard and the former Ophelia Menard, both of Cow Island. She was one of seventeen children. She and her husband Alvy ran a farm in Vermilion Parish for several years. In 1950, they moved to Lafayette when he took a job with the National Food Store. She was a person that loved to cook and bake. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren always loved to visit and stay over because of all the treats and care she had for them. She was known to them as Mama.

She is survived by two daughters, Diana LeBlanc Hebert and her husband, Don, Mardell Broussard; one son, Cline LeBlanc and his wife Dolores; grandchildren, Troy and wife Kristie, Rhonda H. Anderson and husband Louis, Tonya Breaux, Shawn Frederick and husband Michael, Stacy Hebert and husband Matt, Chad LeBlanc and wife Myra; great grandchildren, Mia and Jude Hebert, Makayla and William Anderson, Christian, Damon and Connor Frederick, Mollie, Morgan and Chance LeBlanc; one sister, Ernestine Landry.

She was preceded in death by her husband Alvy LeBlanc in 1999, her parents; brothers, Paul, Otto, Ophe, Lodias, Otis, Ophelias, Elie, and Edie Menard; sisters, Agnes Bourque Hebert, Ozite Hollier, Lucy Suire, Paula and Effie Menard as well as one infant brother and one infant sister; one great granddaughter, Mckenzie Breaux.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed on Tuesday, December 15, 2009 from 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm and will continue on Wednesday from 8:00 am until time of service.

A rosary will be prayed on Tuesday at 5:30 pm.

Pallbearers will be Don and Troy Hebert, Cline and Chad LeBlanc, Louis Anderson and Matt Hebert.

Thanks are given to Maison De Lafayette, for their care and attention and kindness shown to her during her stay. Special thanks to her caretakers in Wing 3, Erika, Ann, Ivy, Linda, Pansy, as well as others. A ''Special Thanks'' to Pat Richard, Hospice Nurse, that took Eula''s care to heart as well as the entire staff of Hospice of Acadiana.

In lieu of flowers, her family requests donations to Hospice of Acadiana, 2600 Johnston St., Ste. 200, Lafayette, LA 70506, or to St. Jude''s Children''s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.

Delhomme Funeral Home, 1011 Bertrand Drive, Lafayette, is in charge of funeral arrangements.
