The Life of Richard Anthony Dore
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 31, 2009, at a 10:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial in Holy Cross Catholic Church in Lafayette, for Richard Anthony Dore, 40, who passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 28, 2009 at Lafayette General Medical Center in Lafayette.Interment will be in Lafayette Memorial Park. Reverend Howard Blessing, Pastor of Holy Cross Catholic Church in Lafayette, will be the Celebrant of the Funeral Mass and will conduct the funeral services. Karen Broussard, organist and soloist, will sing “Amazing Grace”, “Surely the Presence of the Lord is in this Place”, “Yahweh, You Are Near” and “I Cast All My Cares Upon You” for the services. Survivors include his parents, Raymond and Antoinette Dore; siblings, Rachael Dore Broussard and her husband Robert of Breaux Bridge, Roxanne Dore Rodman and her husband Blair of Las Vegas, NV, Rosalyn Dore Hawkes and her husband Johnny of Jeanerette, Ryan (Scooter) Dore and his wife Rene of Lafayette, Reid Dore and his friend Steve Coreil of Dallas, TX, Robin Dore Credeur and her husband Ryan of Dallas, TX; two nephews, Reece Credeur and Chance Bailey; one niece, Alex Bailey; grandparents, Richard Stokes, Sadie Stokes, Gaudy Dore and Jean Dore; and godparents, Buddy Sinitier and Jeanette Voisin.He was preceded in death by two uncles, Dwayne Dore and James Voisin.A native of New Orleans and a resident of Duson for most of his life, Richard Dore was a fun loving, high spirited person, who enjoyed music and reading. He was an apologetic for the Catholic Church, appearing on AOC television. He was never amongst strangers and enjoyed the company of friends and family. He was a loving son, grandson, brother, uncle and friend. Richard will be missed dearly by family, friends and all who knew him.Pallbearers will be Rusty Vincent, Ken Hulin, Mike Babin, Johnny Hawkes, Ryan Credeur and Robert Broussard.A Rosary will be prayed Friday, January 30, 2009 at 7:00 PM in Martin & Castille Funeral Home.
