The Life of Raymond William Cecchi

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 6, 2009, at 10:00 AM in La Chapelle de Martin & Castille in Lafayette, for Raymond William Cecchi, 91, who passed away peacefully on Friday, January 2, 2009 at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center in Lafayette.Interment in Lafayette Memorial Park. Reverend Chris Blanchard, Senior Pastor of Covenant United Methodist Church in Lafayette will conduct the funeral services. Karen Broussard, organist and soloist, will sing “Amazing Grace”, “Just A Closer Walk With Thee” and “The Old Rugged Cross” for the services. Survivors include one daughter, Linda R. Amo and her husband Ed of Lafayette; one son, Donald Cecchi and his wife Jeanine of Arroyo Grande, CA; six grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; and one sister, Genevieve Cecchi Casella of Citrus Heights, CA.He was preceded in death by wife, Doris Kahn Cecchi; parents, Alfredo and Telesino Canberonacchi Cecchi; and three brothers, Dino Vincent Cecchi, Henry Gabriel Cecchi, Marcello Cecchi.A native of San Francisco and a resident of Lafayette for nine years, Raymond Cecchi proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. Raymond Cecchi will be greatly missed by his family and friends.Pallbearers will be Mark Chaney, Kevin Chaney, Zach Craven, L. P. Breaux, Bill LeFevre, Dalton Boutin and Silas Strickland. The family requests that visitation be observed on Monday from 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM and on Tuesday from 8:00 AM until time of service.
