The Life of Marie Vita Reaux

Funeral Services will be held at an 11:00 am Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday, December 31, 2008 in the Delhomme Chapel of the Flowers for Vita Marie Reaux, 101, who passed away on December 29, 2008 at 7:01 am at Southwest Medical Center. Reverend Steve LeBlanc, Pastor of St. Pius X Catholic Church, will be Celebrant of the Mass and will conduct the funeral services. Interment will take place in Lafayette Memorial Park. Mrs. Reaux, a resident of Lafayette, was the daughter of the late George Bonin Sr. and the former Noelie LeBlanc. Vita was a member of St. Pius Catholic Church, a Charter member of St. Pius Ladies Alter Society, now St. Pius X Women's Guild. She was a Charter member of Fatima Seniors 50 Plus Club, she was a Charter member of the Attakapas Historical Association Society, member of Galvez Chapter, National Society Daughters of the American Revolution, Charter member of Captain Joseph Marin Chapter, United States Daughters of 1812, member of Alfred Mouton Chapter, National Society United Daughters of the Confederacy and a member of Louisiana Society of the National Society Dames of the Court of Honor. She is survived by one son, John Ray Reaux and his wife, Donna of Lafayette, Louisiana; one grandson, Chad Anthony Reaux; one great grandson, Joshua Michael Reaux; and several neices and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 35 years, John Rodolph Reaux, Jr. and four brothers, Claude Bonin, Frank Bonin, Edward Bonin, Sr. and George Bonin, Jr. The family requests that visiting hours be observed on Tuesday from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm. And from 8:00 am Wednesday until time of Service. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm Tuesday December 30, 2008 at Delhomme Funeral Home of Lafayette. Pallbearers will be Chad Reaux, Michael Bonin, Donald Bonin, Russell Broussard, Edward Bonin, Jr., and Alfred Reaux. The Family would like to extend thanks to Debbie Provost, and the Staff of Cornerstone South. Also the family would like to extend a special thanks to Mary Arceneaux, Dot Lemelle, Ella Demouchet, and Mary Davis for their special care and love, during Vita's time of need.
