The Life of Heloise Belsome
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 pm on Sunday, October 30, 2011 in the Delhomme Chapel of the Flowers for Heloise “Poup” Picard Belsome, 94, who passed away on October 25, 2011 at 9:05 pm at her residence.
Deacon Jim Davis will conduct the funeral services.
Private graveside burial will take place in Lafayette Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mrs. Belsome, a resident of Lafayette, LA, was the daughter of the late Adonis Picard and the former Marie Broussard both of Maurice, Louisiana.
She is survived by one daughter, Marilyn B. Long and husband, Paul of Lafayette, LA; one son, John L. Belsome and wife, Bonnie of Lafayette, LA; six grandchildren, Sally Long Babineaux and husband, Ernest, Charlie Long, Sr. and wife, Peggy, Paula Long Graffeo and husband, Daniel, Tom Long and wife, Anita, Ross Belsome and Blaire Belsome; eight great grandchildren, Charie Long, Jr., Jackson Long, Samantha Graffeo, Ashley Graffeo, Andrew Babineaux, Emma Long, Adam Long and Will Long; one sister, Annie Hattiberg and husband Al of Metairie, LA; one sister-in-law, Barbara Landry Picard of Maurice, LA and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Louis J. Belsome; a great granddaughter, Katie Babineaux; one sister, Eunice Broussard; five brothers, Albert, Lloyd, Emery, Jimmy, and Paul Picard.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Delhomme Funeral Home of Lafayette on Sunday, October 30, 2011 from 10:00 AM until the time of service. A rosary will be recited at 1:00 PM at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be John Belsome, Ross Belsome, Charlie Long, Sr., Daniel Graffeo, Ernest Babineaux and Tom Long. Honorary Pallbearers will be Al Hatteberg and Paul Long.

The family would like to thank sitters Anna Narcisse, Betty Hebert, Jody Ancelet and Leslie Magyar for the special care they provided our mother during her final months. Also thanks to all the caregivers from Hospice of Acadiana.
