The Life of Arthur Eric Anderson
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, August 29, 2009 at Grace Presbyterian Church for Arthur Erick Anderson, 85, who passed away on August 26, 2009 at 1:20 am at Lafayette General Medical Center.
Reverend John Wamsley, Pastor of Grace Presbyterian Church, will conduct the funeral services.
Burial will take place in Lafayette Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mr. Anderson, a resident of Lafayette, LA, was the son of the late Erick Anderson and the former Hulda Johnson both of Sweden. Arthur was employed by Shell Oil in Houston and Oklahoma City and in 1965 he moved to Louisiana and began working for Conoco Oil Company until his retirement in 1985 and began an independent career. He was a member of Grace Presbyterian Church, SIPES, AAPG and The Petroleum Club of Lafayette.
He is survived by his daughter, Karen Anderson and her companion, Michael Pears of Lafayette, LA; one sister, Ellen McNamera of Santa Rosa, CA; his companion, Janelle Foshee of Lafayette; his special buddy "Rudie" and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his spouse, Shirley V. Anderson; his son, Erick Anderson; two brothers and five sisters.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed on Friday, August 28, 2009 from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Delhomme Funeral Home of Lafayette and will continue on Saturday at Grace Presbyterian Church from 9:00 am until time of service.
