The Life of Amanda Roy Cormier

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Thursday, March 27, 2008 in the Delhomme Chapel of the Flowers for Amanda Roy Cormier, 84, who passed away Monday, March 24, 2008 at Camelot Place. Reverend Perry Sanders, Pastor Emeritus of First Baptist Church will officiate at the services. Interment will take place at Holy Mary, Mother of God Mausoleum. Amanda, the daughter of the late Leo Roy, Sr. and the former Lillian Breaux, both of Duson, was a longtime resident of Lafayette. She enjoyed working with her flowers in the yard and also her special African Violets in their special room in her home. The greatest joy in her life, however, was her family and she will be sadly missed by everyone who knew and loved her. Survivors include two sisters, Eva Gautreaux, and Rose Venable; five brothers, Wilton Roy, Leo Roy, Jr., Nolton Roy, Chester Roy, and Ivy Roy; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Leo Roy, Sr. and Lillian Breaux Roy; husband, Theophile Cormier; four brothers; and one sister. The family request visiting hours be observed on Wednesday from 2:00 pm to 10:00 pm and continue on Thursday from 8:00 am until the time of service. Pallbearers will be Ray Allen Roy, Blaine Roy, Scotty Roy, Leonard Venable, Jarad Romero, and Manning Romero. Honorary pallbearers are Eddie Hoffpauir, Patrick Roy, Michael Gautreaux, Jimmy Smith, Don Roy, Lennis Venable, Jeffery Venable, Raymond Roy, Kelly Roy, Kenneth Miller, John Wager, and Daniel Roy. Delhomme Funeral Home, 1011 Bertrand Drive, Lafayette is in charge of the funeral arrangements.
