The Life of Annie Grace Broussard

Funeral Services will be held Saturday, December 6, 2008 at a 10:00 AM Service in La Chapelle de Martin & Castille Funeral Home for Annie Grace Broussard, age 81, who died Wednesday, December 3, 2008 at Cornerstone Village South. Interment will be in the Lafayette Memorial Park Cemetery. The Reverend Michael Russo, Pastor of Our Lady of Fatima Church will conduct the Funeral Services, assisted by Deacon Timothy A. Maragos. Lectors will be Steven G."Buzz" Durio and George Broussard. Giftbearers will be Michael Broussard, Derek Delhoussaye and Brittany Spurrier. Lisa Roy, organist, will sing, "Amazing Grace", "How Great Thou Art", "J''irai la voir un jour", and "Take My Hand Precious Lord". Survivors include one daughter, Suzanne B. Delahoussaye and her husband, Albert of Lafayette; one son, Robert L Broussard and his wife, Michelle of Lafayette; three grandchildren, Derek Delahoussaye, Brittany Spurrier and Michael Broussard; four sisters, Mrs. Percy "Velma" Lormand, Mrs. Lovelace "Gertie" Broussard, Mrs. Clarence "Zula" Broussard and Mrs. Margaret Roy; and two brothers, Andrew Broussard and his wife, Rena, and George Broussard and his wife, Elaine; one brother in law, Paul Mark Broussard, Sr. and his wife, Sharon. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward "Stanley" Broussard, who died November 29, 2003; her parents, Remy and Claudia Duhon Broussard; one infant brother, Isaac Broussard; and five sisters, Mrs. Lucien "Nella" Lalande, Mrs. J.R. "Gladys" Frederick, Mrs. Milton "Ada" Guidry Mrs. Sidney "Sadie" Webb and Mrs. Lloyd "Mae Dora" Boudreaux. A native of Vermilion Parish and a resident of Lafayette for sixty years, Mrs. Broussard was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend to all. She was a retired school teacher having taught in Vermilion and Lafayette Parishes. She retired in 1980 and thereafter was a homemaker. She was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Community. A rosary will be prayed by Deacon Timothy A. Maragos Friday at 6:00 PM in the Martin & Castille Funeral Home. The family requests that visiting hours be observed Friday 10:00 AM until 8:00 PM and Saturday from 8:00 AM until time of the Funeral Mass. Pallbearers are Pat Arceneaux, Phillip Broussard, Joey Broussard, Mark A. Broussard, Paul Mark Broussard, Jr. and James Broussard. Honorary Pallbearers are Raymond Pellerin, Leo Duhon, Allen Dugas, and Paul Mark Broussard, Sr. The family would like to express their appreciation to Hospice of Acadiana staff and volunteers. The family would also like to extend special thanks to all the nurses and aides, who provided special care around the clock to Mrs. Broussard at Cornerstone Village South. They would also like to thank all friends and family members who gave their time to visit her and accompany her to many medical visits.
