The Life of Rodney LeJeune
RODNEY LEJEUNE, son of Percy and Rita (Latiolais) Lejeune, was born on December 5, 1950 in Lafayette, Louisiana and passed away on December 17, 2008, in Henderson, Texas.
He served his country faithfully in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He was honorably discharged and was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal with 2 Stars and the Vietnam Campaign Medal with 60 Device.
On October 16, 1982, he was united in marriage with Agnes Bordovsky, in Lafayette, Louisiana. Together they spent twenty-six wonderful years together.
For over 25 years he worked Frank’s Casing Crew, in Broussard, Louisiana. For the past twelve years, he attended Carlisle United Methodist Church.
Rodney was interested in the support of other veterans. He was a member of the American Legion, the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Vietnam Veterans of America. He was a booster member of the Future Farmers of America at the West Rusk School. During his free time, Rodney enjoyed farming, hunting and working on vehicles.
He was liked by everyone he met. He was a father figure to kids he worked with.
He is survived by his wife Agnes, three sons, Freeman, of Selman City, Texas, Barrett, of Iota, Louisiana and Boyd Lejeune, of Abbeville, Louisiana; one daughter, Amanda Lejeune, of Selman City, Texas; two brothers, Huey and Jay Latiolais, both of Louisiana and four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will held at 2:00 P.M., Friday, December 19, 2008, in the chapel of Crawford-Crim-Bryan Funeral Home, in Henderson, with Reverend David Goodwin, officiating. Interment, with military honors, will be held at 2:00 P.M, Saturday, December 20, 2008, in the Veterans Section of Lafayette Memorial Park Cemetery, Lafayette, Louisiana. The family will receive friends from 6 – 8 P.M., Thursday, December 18, 2008 at the funeral home.
