The Life of Lewis Edward Beebe

Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 22, 2008, at 2:00 PM in La Chapelle de Martin & Castille in Lafayette, for Lewis Edward Beebe, 86, who passed away peacefully on Friday, December 19, 2008 at Cornerstone Village South in Lafayette.Interment will be in Lafayette Memorial Park. Reverend John Wamsley, Pastor of Grace Presbyterian Church will conduct the funeral services.Survivors include two daughters, Betty Ann Dancause and Pamela McFarland; one son, Steven E. Beebe; five grandchildren, Michael Dancause, Hilary Maurin, Michelle Maurin, Travis McFarland and Miriam Beebe; and one great grandchild, Callaway E. Dancause.He was preceded in death by his wife, Patsy Ruth Beebe; parents, Gordon A. and Fannie B. Smith Beebe; and one brother, Richard Beebe.A native of Madison, Wisconsin, Lewis Edward Beebe lived many places throughout his life, but was currently a resident of Lafayette. He proudly served his country as a member of the United States Navy during World War II with Company 1478 at Great Lakes Naval Training Center and trained at the Naval Reserve Training School (NRTS) in 1945. Mr. Beebe worked throughout the world for Conoco as a geologist. He was a collector of trains and built model railroads.Lewis Beebe enjoyed traveling with his wife and family and telling tales of his wonderful travels to family and friends. He was a member of Grace Presbyterian Church and a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. Mr. Beebe will be dearly missed by family, friends and all who knew him.Pallbearers will be Tim McFarland, Steven Beebe, Ken Dancause, Michael Dancause, Joel McFarland and Terry McFarland.The family requests that visitation be observed on Monday, December 22, 2008 from 10:00 AM until time of service.
