The Life of Alex Edward Stelly

Funeral Services for Mr. Alex Stelly, 78, will be held at The First Baptist Church of Youngsville on Friday, December 19, 2008 at 1:00PM with Rev. Mark Gaudin officiating. Visitation will be at The First Baptist Church and begins on Friday, December 19, 2008 at 8:30AM until services.

A native and resident of Youngsville, Mr. Stelly passed away on Monday, December 15, 2008 at 11:25AM at the Southwest Louisiana War Veterans Hospital in Jennings.

Mr. Stelly served his city with the Lafayette Police Department as a captain. After retiring, he went on to own and operate an eighteen-wheeler leased through Ace Trucking for many years. He was a member of The First Baptist Church of Youngsville and enjoyed playing golf. He loved his friends and family and enjoyed spending time with them most of all.

Mr. Stelly is survived by his wife, Audrey Jane Currid Stelly of Youngsville; daughters, Cabrini Stelly Broussard of Carencro, Brandy Bailey of Youngsville and Roxie Daniels of Youngsville; four grandsons, Cody Hurst, Willis Bailey, Billy Bailey and Alex Bailey, all of Youngsville; four granddaughters, Candice Doncet of Carencro, Lindsay Silvesterini of Carencro, Nicole Seckinger of Youngsville, and Brittany Bailey of Youngsville; five sisters, Elba Stelly, Rena Guidry, Theresa Rothman, Beverly Boudreaux and Shirley Daigle; and two brothers, Nickes Stelly and Lee Stelly.

He is preceded in death by his parents Albert and Anna Savoy Stelly; his sisters, Lela Stelly, Regina Pellerin and Mabel Hayes; and his brothers, Laly Stelly, Jacque Stelly and J.B. Stelly.

David Funeral Home of Lafayette, 316 Youngsville Highway, (337) 837-9887, will be handling the arrangements.
