The Life of Frank J Dias Jr.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 25, 2006 at a 10:30 AM Mass of Christian Burial in La Chapelle de Martin & Castille for Frank J. Dias, Jr, 75, who passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 22, 2006 after a lengthy illness.Interment will be in Lafayette Memorial Park Cemetery.Reverend Gary Schexnayder, Pastor of St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church in Crowley, will be the Celebrant of the funeral Mass and will conduct the funeral services. Jodi Bollich, Organist and Soloist, will perform for the services, "On Eagles'' Wings", "Ave Maria", "Amazing Grace", "I Shall See You Soon Again"Survivors include one daughter, Debra Carroll of Lafayette; three grandchildren, Candace Carroll, Miranda Usie, and Tony Carroll; and three great grandchildren, Wyatt Usie, Ian Usie, and Collin Usie.He was preceeded in death by his beloved wife, Betty Dias; his parents, Frank Dias, Sr., and Faustine Sanchez Dias; one son, Michael Dias; three sisters, Earline Bouy, Eunice Allemand and Una May; two brothers, Earl Dias and Jay P. Dias; his grandparents, Manuel Dias and Martin Remono.A native of Plaquemine, Louisiana and resident of Lafayette Mr. Dias was a loving father, grandfather, brother and friend to all who knew him. He proudly served his country as a member of the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam Era. He also served all over the United States including Florida, Louisiana, California, North Carolina, Alaska and Maine as well as overseas in the Phillipinnes, Italy, Denmark, and Germany. Mr. Dias was employed at Frank?s Home Appliance Repair for many years before his retirement. He was a member of the St. Edmond Catholic Church Community ,where he was a faithful usher during Saturday Mass. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.Pallbearers will be Tony Carroll, Errol Perron, Nick Usie, Candace Carroll, Nelwyn Slocum, and Wayne Arceneaux. Honorary Pallbearers will be Ronnie Allemand, Wyatt Usie, Collin Usie and Ian Usie.A Rosary will be prayed on Monday April 24, 2006 at 6:30 PM in Martin & Castille Funeral Home in LafayetteThe family requests that visitation be observed on Monday from12:00 PM to 8:00 PM and Tuesday from 8:30 AM until time of services.
