The Life of Allen John Viator

Lafayette - Funeral Service for Allen J. Viator, 83, will be held Tuesday, April 25, 2006 at 11:00AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Broussard, with Fr. Louis Richard officiating. Visitation will be held at David Funeral Home of Lafayette on Monday, April 24, 2006 from 3:00PM until 9:00PM with a rosary at 7:00PM. Visitation will resume on Tuesday, April 25, 2006 from 8:00AM until the services, with interment following at Lafayette Memorial Park Cemetery. Mr. Viator died Saturday, April 22, 2006 at Lafayette General Hospital at 6:03PM. He served in the Merchant Marines, was avid sports watcher, Gardener, and loved playing Bouree’. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Lorraine Landry Viator; two sons, Tim and his wife Charisse Viator of Broussard, and Chris and his wife Liz Viator of Lafayette; three daughters, Wana and her husband Scott Baker of Allen, TX, Stephanie and her husband Greg Richards of New Orleans, and Jill and her husband Johnny Soignier of Lafayette; twelve grandchildren, Lauren Skinner of Allen, TX, Austin Skinner of Galveston, TX, Meagan Skinner of Katy, TX, Krisa Choplin of Lafayette, Chaz Viator of Lafayette, Alexis Viator of Broussard, Nicholas Viator, and Nicole Viator of Lafayette, Rocky Benoit of Costa Mesa, CA, Tallie Viator of Lafayette, Benjamin Soignier, and Amber Soignier of Lafayette; five great grandchildren, Kirsten Choplin, Ashtin Choplin, Alexander Viator, Brennon Viator, and Jacques Sonnier all of Lafayette; and a sister, Lou Cheney of New Iberia. He is preceded in death by his parents, Simon and Anite Reaux Viator; and a brother Roy Viator. Pallbearers will be, Tim, Chris, Chaz, and Nicholas Viator, Austin Skinner, and Benjamin Soignier. Honorary Pallbearers will be, Scott Baker, Greg Richards, and Johnny Soignier. David Funeral Home of Lafayette will be handling the arrangements
