The Life of Marjorie Goodson

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 27, 2011, at 2:00 PM in La Chapelle de Martin & Castille in Lafayette, for Marjorie Brand Goodson, 90, who passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 25, 2011 at Cornerstone Village South in Lafayette. Interment will be in Lafayette Memorial Park. Reverend Wallace Millsaps, Pastor of First Baptist Church in Jeanerette, will conduct the funeral services. Karen Broussard, organist and soloist, will sing "Amazing Grace", "In The Garden" and "Surely The Presence" for the services. Survivors include her step-son, William Goodson; one sister, Jane B. Moore; three nieces; one nephew; and four step-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas Walter Brand, Sr. and Velma Estelle Lewis Brand; her husband, William Goodson, Sr.; one step-daughter, Lucy Goodson; and eight brothers and sisters. A native of Decatur, MS and a resident of Lafayette, Marjorie Goodson was a loving person who will be greatly missed by her family and friends. The family requests that visitation be observed in Martin & Castille's DOWNTOWN Lafayette location on Saturday, August 27, 2011 from 12:00 PM until time of service. A heartfelt appreciation is extended to the staff of Heart of Hospice and to the staff of Cornerstone South for the loving care given to Marjorie.
