The Life of Mable Howell

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 6, 2008 at a 10:00 AM Service in La Chapelle de Martin & Castille for Mable Bordelon Howell, 95, who passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 3, 2008 at her residence in Lafayette.Interment will be in Holy Mary Mother of God Mausoleum in Lafayette.Reverend Curtis Mallet will officiate the services. Jodi Bollich, organist and soloist, will sing for the services, "Ave Maria", "Amazing Grace", "Here I Am Lord" and "Notre Pere".Survivors include one daughter, Jackie Klutts and her husband, Joe; seven grandchildren, Gay Odell and her husband, Bruce, Tania Hanisee, Tessa La Pierre and her husband, William, Margi Dunphy and her husband, Grover Lee Jr., Richard Puryear and his wife, Jodie, Cathy Brousseau and David Puryear; nineteen great grandchildren, Herman "Poonie" Thibeaux and his wife, Ashley, Hunter Thibeaux and his wife, Meri, John Michael Hanisee, Jr. and his wife, Brandi, Danielle Hanisee, William LaPierre, Jr. and his wife, Elizabeth, Mandy LaPierre, Braxton LaPierre, Parker Guillot, Connor Guillot, Oliver Guillot, Dutch Dunphy, Chastity, Dustin, Derek, Joshua, Rick and Jodie Puryear, Jason, Denise, Sally and Kady Brousseau; nine great great grandchildren, Griffin, Catherine Grace, Ella, Ethan, Emma and Eli Thibeaux and Skye and Kaleb Hanisee; and her favorite nieces Lolita Dupuis and Claudette McMath.She was preceded in death by her parents, Abel and Estelle Bordelon, her first husband, Alvah S. Puryear; her second husband, Tanton Howell; one son, Sherill A. Puryear; and one granddaughter, Lisa Puryear.A native of Marksville, Louisiana and resident of Lafayette for most of her life, Mrs. Howell was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great great grandmother, aunt and friend to all who knew her. She loved to dance and play cards with her friends and family. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.Pallbearers will be William LaPierre, Bruce Odell, Lee Dunphy, Poonie Thibeaux, Hunter Thibeaux and Braxton LaPierre.A Rosary will be prayed on Friday, September 5, 2008 at 5:00 PM in Martin & Castille Funeral Home in Lafayette.The family requests that visitation be observed on Friday from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM and on Saturday from 8:00 AM until time of services.
