The Life of Herb L Breaux
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 25, 2008 at a 2:00 PM Mass of Christian Burial in La Chapelle de Martin & Castille for Herby Louis Breaux, 61, who passed away peacefully on Holy Thursday, March 20, 2008 at Southwest Medical Center in Lafayette.Interment will be in Holy Mary Mother of God Cemetery in Lafayette.Reverend Howard Blessing, Pastor of Holy Cross Catholic Church, will be the Celebrant of the funeral Mass and will conduct the funeral services. Lectors will be Vance Theriot and June Gardiner. Giftbearers will be Evelyn Venable and Lee Hollier. Melody Thibodaux, vocalist, will sing for the services accompanied by Dexter Thibodeaux, organist.Survivors include his beloved wife, Linda Faye Royer Breaux of Judice; three daughters, Dawn Breaux Vincent, Monica Breaux Crooks and Stacey Breaux Gaskins and her husband, Daniel K.; six grandchildren, Brittany Crooks, Justin Crooks, Robert "Bubby" Vincent, Jr., Dominique Vincent, Dylan Gaskins and Ashton Gaskins; one sister Evelyn Venable; and two brothers, Nelson Breaux and R.J. Breaux.He was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene Breaux and Inez Hernandez Breaux; one brother, Lee Ray Breaux; his maternal grandparents, Andre Hernandez and Edith Roy Hernandez; and his paternal grandparents, Henry Breaux and Amanda Bertrand Breaux.A native of Lafayette, Louisiana and resident of Judice for over 25 years, Mr. Breaux was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend to all who knew him. He was a member of the United States Navy, and proudly served during the Vietnam War. Mr. Breaux was a lifetime member of the VFW (Veterans of Foreign War). He was a dedicated employee of BJ Services for many years until his retirement. Mr. Breaux enjoyed camping and fishing, but his passion in life was spending time with his family, whom he adored. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.Pallbearers will be Daniel K. Gaskins, Floyd Meche, Larry Thibodeaux, Bryan Muirhead, Robert "Bubby" Vincent, Jr. and Justin Crooks. Honorary Pallbearers will be Brittany Nicole Crooks and Dominique Louise Vincent.A Rosary will be prayed by Brother Francis Fontenot, BCC, on Monday, March 24, 2008 at 7:00 PM in Martin & Castille Funeral Home in Lafayette.The family requests that visitation be observed on Monday from 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM and on Tuesday from 8:00 AM until time of services.
