The Life of Dorothy Louise Fogle

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 4, 2007 at a 11:00 AM Service in First Baptist Church Chapel in Lafayette for Dorothy Louise Broussard Fogle, 91, a loving and devoted mother, who passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 1, 2007 at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center surrounded by her family. Interment will be in Lafayette Memorial Park Cemetery. Dr. Steve Horn, Pastor of First Baptist Church in Lafayette, will Officiate the funeral services. Survivors include four daughters, Patricia C. Fogle Daniels and her husband Walter T. Daniels, Sr., Emma L. Fogle Borel, Sandra E. Fogle Burwell, and Kathleen Fogle Guidry and her husband, John W. Guidry, M.D.; eleven grandchildren, Walter T. Daniels, Jr., Patrick Allen Daniels, Kevin Wayne Daniels, Michael Dwayne Daniels, Jennifer Elisabeth Borel, Charlie Borel, Allison Blythe Burwell, Ashley Blaine Burwell Reed, Robert Wilson Burwell, Jr., John William Guidry, and Adrienne Kathleen Guidry; and eight great grandchildren, Eric Daniels, Mylinda Daniels, Christopher Daniels, Jason Daniels, Bryan Daniels, Derek Daniels, Alex Daniels, and Lydia Daniels. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Sandlin Martin "Red" Fogle; her parents James Arthur Broussard and Cecile Ann LeJuene Broussard; and three siblings Walter H. Broussard, Arthur Lloyd Broussard, and Shirley Broussard. Dorothy Louise Broussard was born on October 25, 1916 to James Arthur and Cecile Anne Broussard. She attended Jennings High School where she graduated as Salutatorian of her Class on May 31, 1934. Dorothy Fogle was the recipient of an Academic Scholarship from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge. She married Sandlin Martin "Red" Fogle on July 29, 1942 in Neosho, Missouri and had four daughters whom she adored. Mrs. Fogle was very active in WMU, and was a Sunday School Teacher, an Assistant Girl Scout Leader, a State Director of the Girls Auxiliary, and volunteered her time as a member of the American Red Cross Gray Ladies. She was an avid reader, a life long learner and scholar who loved cooking and gardening. Mrs. Fogle had a deep love of music, literature and Ireland. She also had a vivid interest in genealogy. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. Pallbearers will be Patrick Allen Daniels, Kevin Wayne Daniels, Michael Dwayne Daniels, Charlie Borel, John William Guidry and Christopher Daniels. Honorary Pallbearers will be Walter T. Daniels, Jr., Robert Wilson Burwell, Jr., and Eric Daniels. The family requests that visitation be observed on Monday from 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM and on Tuesday from 8:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Martin & Castille Funeral Home in Lafayette.
