The Life of Virginia Lee Cooper

Graveside Services will be held on Tuesday, December 4, 2007 at 10:00 AM in Lafayette Memorial Park Cemetery for Virginia Lee Cooper, 83, who died on Saturday, December 1, 2007 at her residence in Lafayette.Reverend Kerry Bellard of Church in the City Ministries, will officiate the graveside services.Survivors include five daughters Julia Mae LeBleu, Martha Rae Poirier, Hazel Lee Hebert, Velvia Jo Field and her husband, Chris, and Cathalene Annette Almeida and her husband, Dennis; two sons Roy Dean Cooper and his wife, Nicole and Orville Dale Cooper, Sr.; fourteen grandchildren; and twenty three great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Felix Orville Cooper; her parents, Claud D. Poindexter and Lula Rose Poindexter; two daughters Carrion Leigh Cooper, and Brenda Faye Morvant; two sisters; three brothers; and one step-son, Adrill Buford Cooper.A native of Marked Tree, Arkansas and resident of Lafayette for over 52 years, Mrs. Cooper was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend to all who knew her. She enjoyed cooking and spending time with family and friends, and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.Pallbearers will be Phillip G. Cooper, Ryan J. Alleman, Sean J. Hebert, Chris N. Sonnier, Orville D. Cooper, Jr. and Yates A. Cooper.The family requests that visitation be observed on Monday, December 3, 2007 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Tuesday, December 4, 2007 from 8:00 AM until 10:00 AM, at Martin & Castille Funeral Home in Lafayette, at which time the procession will proceed to Lafayette Memorial Park Cemetery for services.  Martin & Castille - Lafayette, 337-234-2311.
