The Life of Marilyn Bliss Duchamp

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, February 3, 2011 in the Delhomme Chapel of the Flowers for Marilyn Patricia Duchamp, 49, who passed away on January 31, 2011 at 10:40 pm at Magnolia Estates. Burial will take place in Lafayette Memorial Park Cemetery. Mrs. Duchamp, a resident of Lafayette, LA, was the daughter of Leo Everett Salsman of Lafayette, Louisiana and the former Mary Hollier of Lafayette, Louisiana. The family would like to extend a special thank you to her caregivers, Kasey Jane LeBlanc, her niece, Marilyn''''s family members, the staff of Hospice of Acadiana, and also a special thanks to Sharlane Hardin, for her dedication to Marilyn''''s care. She is survived by her mother, Mary H. Salsman of Lafayette, two daughters, Caroline Ford of Atlanta, GA, and Patricia Bliss of Lafayette, LA; one son, George Bliss of Lafayette, LA; five sisters, Diann Salsman Guidry of Casper, WY, Linda Salsman of Lafayette, LA, Jo Ann Salsman LeBlanc of St. Martinville, LA, Cynthia Salsman of Hillsboro, TX, and Lana Salsman Borza of Fort Smith, AR; one brother, William Everett Salsman of Missoula, MT; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Leo Everett Salsman. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Delhomme Funeral Home of Lafayette on Wednesday from 8:00 am until 9:00 pm and on Thursday from 8:00 am until the time of the service. Pallbearers will be Michael LeBlanc, John LeBlanc, George Bliss, Tim Evans, and William Salsman. Delhomme Funeral Home, 1011 Bertrand Drive, Lafayette, LA, is in charge of funeral arrangements.
