The Life of Alton Moss Bujard

Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, October 4, 2005 at a1:30 PM Mass of Christian Burial at St. Pius X Catholic Church for Dr. Alton "Toonie" Bujard, age 70, who died Saturday, October 1, 2005 at 12:53 PM at his residence in Lafayette. Interment will be in the Lafayette Memorial Park Cemetery. The Reverend Monsignor Richard von Phul Mouton will be the Celebrant of the Funeral Mass and will conduct the Funeral Services. Survivors include two daughters, Angela L. Bujard and Annette M. Bujard, both of Lafayette; three sons, Bernard M. Bujard of Bowie, Texas, Stanton P. Bujard of Youngsville, LA., and Stephen J. Bujard, of Lafayette; ten grandchildren; two sisters, Patsy R. Dauterive and Goldie M. Cestia, both of New Iberia and one brother, Dr. Burt Bujard of New Iberia. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alton M. "Nig" Bujard and the former Goldie M. Fournet. Dr. Bujard was a native of New Iberia and a resident of Lafayette for over thirty years. He was a graduate of St. Peter's College in New Iberia and also a graduate of Louisiana State University at Baton Rouge. Dr. Bujard was a member of Sigma-Nu at LSU. During his professional career Dr. Bujard practiced Radiology in Abbeville, Kaplan, Erath, and Gueydan for 34 years. He enjoyed dining out, making new friends and will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Dr. Bujard was also a strong supporter of the LSU Athletic Program and enjoyed watching LSU football with family and friends. He was a veteran of military service, having served in the United States Army Airbourne 101 Division, "Screaming Eagles" as a Para-Trooper. Dr. Bujard was a member of the St. Pius Catholic Community. He was also a member of the Vermilion Parish Medical Society, Louisiana State Medical Society, AMA and American Board of Radiology. A Rosary will be prayed Monday at 6:00 PM in the Martin & Castille Funeral Home. The family requests that visiting hours be observed Monday from 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM and Tuesday from 8:00 AM until time of the Funeral Mass. Pallbearers are Bernard Bujard, Stanton Bujard, Stephen Bujard, Wayne Cestia, Dr.Burt Bujard and Thomas Russo. Honorary pallbearers are Phillip Russo, Jade Bujard, Dr. Robert Rivet and Joe Regard. The Family would like to extend a special thanks to all of his friends who maintained thier friendship over the years and especially those who have been there in more recent years.
