The Life of Donald P Romero Sr.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 25, 2011 at a 12:00 PM Mass of Christian Burial in Saint Mary Catholic Church for Donald P. Romero, Sr., 80, who died on Friday, February 18, 2011 at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center in Lafayette.
Interment will be in Lafayette Memorial Park Cemetery.
Reverend Harold Trahan, Pastor of Saint Mary Catholic Church, will be the Celebrant of the funeral Mass and will conduct the funeral services. Giftbearers will be Leonard Romero and Beverly Killingsworth. Lectors will be Betty Romero and Marilyn Derise. Musical selections will be "How Great Thou Art", "Be Not Afraid", "Pie Jesu" and "Here I Am Lord".
Survivors include his beloved wife of 59 years, Carolyn Romero; one daughter, Carla R. Moylan and her husband, John; two sons, Donald P. Romero, Jr. and his wife, Donna and Michael K. Romero and his wife, Donna; one sister, Beverly Killingsworth and her husband, Ernie; two brothers, Ray Romero and his wife, Carol and Leonard Romero and his wife, Betty; seven grandchildren, Christian Burns, Leah Romero, Meredith Romero, Kelly Moylan, John Thomas Moylan III, Evan Romero and Zachary Romero; and two great grandchildren, Mackenzie and Brooks Burns.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Semar and Edna Borel Romero; one son, Timothy J. Romero; four sisters and two brothers.
He was an avid golfer and a member of St. Mary Catholic Church where he served as an usher for many years.
Pallbearers will be Donald P. Romero, Jr., Michael K. Romero, John Moylan, Ray Romero, Leonard Romero and John Moylan III.
A Rosary will be prayed on Friday at 10:00 AM in Martin Castille''s DOWNTOWN Location.
The family requests that visitation be observed on Friday from 9:00 AM until time of services.
In lieu of flowers the family request donations to be made to Heart of Hospice of Lafayette
