The Life of Taylor Edgar Jones

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, June 28, 2007 at 10:00 A.M. at the Cathedral of St. John Berchmans in Shreveport for Taylor Edgar Jones, 20, who passed away on Saturday, June 23, 2007. The Reverend Philip F. Michiels will be the Celebrant of the Funeral Mass. The family requests that visitation be observed on Wednesday, June 27, 2007 from 3:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at Osborn Funeral Home in Shreveport. The burial will be Friday, June 29, 2007 at 4:00 P.M. at Lafayette Memorial Park Cemetery in Lafayette officiated by Reverend Keith J. DeRouen. Survivors include his parents, Mary Breaux Jones and Richard Steven Jones; one brother, Nicholas Gene Jones; one sister, Kathryn Claire Jones; paternal grandmother, Eloise Jones; aunts and uncles, Michael J. Breaux, Carolyn and Paul Breaux, Ann and Stuart Clark, Roxanne and Edward Breaux, Kathy and Bradley Broussard, Pam and Neal Crawford, Janice and Andy Franks, Lisa and Darin Williams; and numerous cousins who loved him deeply and will miss him very much. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Dr. and Mrs. Edgar P. Breaux, Jr. of Lafayette; his paternal grandfather, Eugene Jones of Benton; one uncle, Jeff LaCaze of Bossier City and one cousin, Mary Kathryn Broussard of Lafayette. A native of Shreveport, Taylor was a senior honor student attending Louisiana State University of Shreveport. He was a founding father of the Mu Omicron Chapter of Kappa Sigma Fraternity. He served as the Grand Treasurer for two years and was currently the Fund Raising Chairman. Taylor was an outstanding student achieving the Chancellor’s Honor Roll List, as well as the Chancellor’s List of Academic Excellence in the College of Business throughout his college career. Taylor was the recipient of the S. Berton Heard Scholarship, the Shreveport Chapter of the Society of Louisiana Certified Public Accountants Scholarship, as well as the Cole Evans and Peterson Scholarship in the College of Business Administration. He was a member of the Beta Gamma Sigma Honor Society, and the Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society. Taylor was a loving son, brother, cousin and friend. He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting and fishing. He loved spending time cooking with family and friends. Pallbearers will be Nicholas Jones, Jason Breaux, M.D., Christopher Breaux, Edward Breaux, Stuart G. Clark V, Andrew Brun, John Simpson and Russ Patrick. Honorary pallbearers will be Michael Breaux, Jr., Andrew Broussard, William Breaux, Steven McMillon, John Allen McCarter, Kendall LeRay, Jonathan Hodge, Blaine Brun, Tulley Covington, Dustin Clinton, Jonathan Gandy, Brian Wiggins, Dennis Beeman, Steven Susla, Eric Leblanc, John Rachal, and Rip Raster. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Mu Omicron Chapter of Kappa Sigma Fraternity, P.O. Box 4707, Shreveport, LA 71134 to establish a memorial fund for the Taylor Edgar Jones Library.
