The Life of Denise Evans
Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 8, 2007 at a 1:00 PM Service in La Chapelle de Martin & Castille for Denise Hutchins Evans, 45, who passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 5, 2007 at Lafayette General Medical Center.Interment will be in the Lafayette Memorial Park Cemetery.Reverend Mike Walker, Pastor of East Bayou Baptist Church, will officiate the funeral services. Justin Head and Reverend Ward Young, guitarists and soloists, will sing for the services, "Untitled Hymn", "How Great Thou Art", and "I Can Only Imagine".Survivors include her beloved husband Michael W. Evans of Lafayette; two daughters, Jessica Head and her husband, Justin and Michelle Evans all of Lafayette; one grandchild, Janna Head; her father, Rodger W. Hutchins of Jonesville; one sister, Debbie Wiggins of Vidalia; and two brothers, David Hutchins and Dexter Hutchins both of Vidalia.She was preceded in death by her mother Frances E. Hutchins.A native of Jonesville, Louisiana, Denise was reared in Vidalia, La. and resident of Lafayette for over 17 years. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend to all who knew her. Denise loved the Lord and often volunteered at East Bayou Baptist Church in Lafayette, where she was a member of the Youth Ministry, and enjoyed teaching Bible study and coordinating for the Creative Arts Ministry. She was very creative and enjoyed gardening, especially her rose garden. Denise treasured the time she spent with her family and friends, and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.Pallbearers will be Dexter Hutchins, Justin Head, Jared Wiggins, Matthew Probst, John Evans and Ray Fannin.The family requests that visitation be observed on Thursday, from 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM and on Friday from 9:00 AM until time of services.Memorial contributions may be made in Denise's name to the Susan G.
