The Life of Jeanne Marie Dupuis

Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 20, 2011, at a 1:30 PM Mass of Christian Burial, in St. Jules Catholic Church in Lafayette, for Mrs. Easten P. Dupuis, Sr., the former Jeanne Marie Guidry, 94, who passed away peacefully on Tuesday afternoon, May 17, 2011, at her home in Lafayette. Interment will be in Lafayette Memorial Park. The Rev. Msgr. J. Douglas Courville, JCL, Pastor of St. Martin de Tours Catholic Church in St. Martinville, will be the Celebrant of the Funeral Mass and will conduct the funeral services. Giftbearers will be Marguerite Kelly, Madeline Lawson, Monique Sacco, Danielle Dugas, Jeanne Cormier, Dana Dupuis, Amy Dupuis, Claire Dugas, Camille Dugas, Madeline Dugas, Holly Dugas, Chloe Dugas and Bailey St. Romain. Lectors will be Easten “Skip” Dupuis and David Woolf. Survivors include her sister Barbara G. Frey; daughter, Amelie “Mellie” Dugas and her husband Roland; grandson, Roland Dugas, III and his wife Sandra; great grandchildren, Claire and Jacob; granddaughter, Marguerite Kelly and her husband David; great grandchildren, Tyler, Ross and Camille; grandson, Mark Dugas and his wife Marie; great grandchildren, Jacque and Holly; grandson, Andre and his wife Sandra; great grandchildren, Madeline, Chloe and Jean-Paul; granddaughter, Danielle Dugas and her husband Ron Schuyler; great grandchildren, Quinn and Sula; daughter, Madeline “Gay” St. Romain; grandson, Plauche St. Romain and his wife Jill; great grandchildren J.P., Luke, Jack and Bailey; granddaughter, Madeline Lawson and her husband Larry; great grandchild, Yuri; grandson, Jean-Pierre St. Romain and his wife Jenny; granddaughter, Monique Sacco and her husband David; great granddaughter, Natalie; granddaughter, Jeanne Cormier and her husband Philip; great grandson, Jarrod; son, Easten “Skip” Dupuis and his wife Lauren; grandchildren, Ryan, Dana and Amy; son, Richard “Dickey” Dupuis; daughter, Denise Woolf and her husband David; and grandchildren, Reggie and Easten. She was preceded in death by her husband, Easten; son, Joel Robert; son-in-law, Plauche “PJ” St. Romain, Jr.; parents, Robert T. and Amelie Dupuis Guidry; three sisters, Gladys G. Darby, Felicianne “Snook” G. Calais and Elaine “Lou” G. Huval; and four brothers, Jules Guidry, Percy Guidry, Willis Guidry and Paul Guidry. A native of Cecilia and a resident of Lafayette for most of her life, Jeanne Dupuis will be dearly missed by her family, friends and all who knew and loved her. Pallbearers will be Roland Dugas III, Mark Dugas, Andre Dugas, Plauche St. Romain, Jean-Pierre St. Romain and Ryan Dupuis. Honorary Pallbearers will be Jack Huval, Easten and Reggie Woolf, Jacob Dugas, Tyler and Ross Kelly, Jacque Dugas, Quinn Schuyler, Jean-Paul Dugas, J.P., Luke and Jack St. Romain, Yuri Lawson and Jarred Motty. Her family extends their deepest appreciation to all of her caregivers over the last few years. The family requests that visitation be observed in Martin & Castille''s DOWNTOWN Lafayette location on Friday, May 20, 2011 from 10:00 AM until time of service.
