The Life of Florence Deane Norwood
Our beloved Florence Deane Norwood passed away peacefully on Tuesday afternoon, May 10, 2011, after a brief illness. She was born on September 22, 1946 in Alexandria, LA, and grew up in Lafayette, LA. She has resided in The Woodlands, TX, for the past 20 years.
Florence''s mother and father preceded her in death. She is survived by her two brothers, James Ralph Norwood, Jr. and his wife Janet Waters Norwood and Noel B. Norwood, II and his wife Elizabeth Kimbrough Norwood; one sister, Evelyn Norwood Vipperman and her husband Stacy Vipperman; many nieces and nephews; and many, many friends.
Viewing will be from 4:00 to 8:00PM Thursday, May 12th at Metcalf Funeral Home located off Hwy 105 at 1801 E. White Oak Terrace in Conroe, where a memorial service will be held at 6:00 PM. Burial will take place at 1:30PM Friday, May 13th at Lafayette Memorial Park in Lafayette, LA.
Pallbearers will be her Godson and nephew William Blakely Norwood, Noel B. Norwood, III, Stacy Vipperman, Brian Weaks, Jonathan K. Norwood, and Jeremy M. Norwood. Honorary pallbearers will be James R. Norwood, III, Jason D. Norwood, Justin N. Norwood, and Hunter C. Wendt.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made in her memory to the American Cancer Society, P. O. Box 22718, Oklahoma City, OK 73123-1718.
