The Life of Mrs. Louise Nichols
Obituary for Louise Duhon NicholsFuneral services will be held on Wednesday, December 14, 2011, at a 2:00 PM Mass of Christian Burial in La Chapelle de Martin & Castille in Lafayette, for Louise Duhon Nichols, 84, who passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 11, 2011 at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center in Lafayette.
Interment will be in Lafayette Memorial Park.
Reverend George Vaniyepurackal, will be the Celebrant of the Funeral Mass and will conduct the funeral services. Giftbearers will be Gail Breaux and Andrew Duhon. Lector will be Mona Johnson. Ron Moreau, soloist, accompanied by Phyllis Simar, organist, will sing for the services.
Survivors include her daughter, Billie Louise Nichols; her son, James J. Nichols and his wife Susan; one grandson, William Owen Nichols, II and his wife Tiffany; five great grandchildren, Christopher, Emily, Elise, Oliver and Catherine Nichols; and two sisters-in-law, Lucille Duhon and Inez Duhon.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Owen "Bill" Nichols; parents, Joseph Fils and Carmelite Landry Duhon; two sisters, Mae Trahan and Ona Mire; and seven brothers, Beo, Roy "Black", Ray, Oce, Lee, Leo and Andrew "Ned" Duhon.
A native of Vermilion Parish and a resident of Lafayette, Louise was the President of Buffalo Chemical Company, Inc. She cherished her Catholic Faith and was very devout. She will be dearly missed by her family, friends and all who knew and loved her.
Pallbearers will be Paul Duhon, Andrew Duhon, Dudley Duhon, Keith Barousse, David Duhon and Dr. Tim Rodgers.
The family requests that visitation be observed in Martin & Castille's DOWNTOWN Lafayette location on Tuesday, December 13, 2011 from 11:00 AM to 9:00 PM and on Wednesday from 9:00 AM until time of service.
A Rosary will be prayed on Tuesday at 7:00 PM in Martin & Castille Funeral Home.
The family wishes to express their heartfelt appreciation to Mrs. Nichol's caregivers, Lenora Issac, Kimberly Wright, and Danette Toney for their loving care.
