The Life of Travis Joseph Romero

Funeral Services will be held at a 10:00 am Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday, March 30, 2011 in the Delhomme Chapel of the Flowers for Travis Joseph Romero, 54, who passed away on March 26, 2011 at 7:35 pm at Magnolia Estates. Reverend Curtis Mallet, JCL, Pastor of St. Genevieve Church , will be Celebrant of the Mass and will conduct the funeral services. Burial will take place in Lafayette Memorial Park Cemetery. Mr. Romero, a resident of Lafayette, LA, was the son of John Robert Romero of Youngsville, Louisiana and the former Jane Pepper of Duson, Louisiana. Travis served in the United States Navy. He was employed as a diesel mechanic. He enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle, fishing, camping, scuba diving and listening to music. He is survived by Parents; John and Jane Romero of Lafayette; one daughter, whom he loved dearly, Kaitlyn Eve Romero of Lafayette; one step son, Jason McClurg of Lafayette; two sisters, Cyndi Romero Benoit and husband Mike of Scott, and Bridgette Romero Sarkies of Lafayette; one brother, Patrick James Romero and wife Peggy of Lafayette; four nieces, Angie Romero of Colorado, April Benoit of Lafayette, Mitzi Benoit Dorman of Lafayette, and Laycie Romero Falcon of Lafayette; one nephew, Joshua Alexander Sarkies; four aunts, Ruth Guidry and husband Paul, Esther Kidder, Anna Belle Roy, and Gladys Dupuis; and one uncle, Carroll Pepper and wife Donna. He was preceded in death by his one nephew, Scott Joseph Benoit; Maternal Grandparents, Willis and Dora Pepper; Paternal Grandparents, Octave J. and Etta Romero; and one uncle, Purgy Pepper. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Delhomme Funeral Home of Lafayette on Tuesday from 4:00 pm until 9:00 pm and will continue on Wednesday from 8:30 am until time of services. A Rosary will be recited at 6:30 pm on Tuesday in the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Mike Benoit, Carroll Pepper, Nick Pepper, Elliott Pepper, Darrell Guidry, and Sean Pepper. Honorary Pallbearers will be Patrick Romero and Joshua Sarkies. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to St. Joseph Hospice and Magnolia Estates for all of their kind and generous help in their time of need. Delhomme Funeral Home, 1011 Bertrand Drive, Lafayette, is in charge of funeral arrangements.
