The Life of Frances Nee Oldenburg

Frances Nee Galligher Oldenburg, age 90 of Horseshoe Bend, Arkansas died Tuesday, October 25, 2011 at the Baptist Health Medical Center. She was born on February 28, 1921 in Pine Bluff, Arkansas to her late parents Shep Galligher and Frances Royston Galligher. Frances was an active member of Saint Mary of the Mount Catholic Church in Horseshoe Bend, a proud member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, Colonial Dames and the Daughters of the American Colonists. In addition she was a charter member of Tele-A-Care in Horseshoe Bend, served as an officer of the St. Charles Borremeo Society for Religious Vocations in Baton Rouge, Louisiana and was a retired secretary from the State of Louisiana. Survivors include her Dear husband of 72 years George E. Oldenburg; beloved mother of Frances Maria (FM) Comeaux (Paul) and beloved grandmother (Nana) of George Paul and Ship Comeaux and beloved great-grandmother (Nana) of Cle'lie and Gabrielle Comeaux. She was preceded in death by her brother Shep A. Galligher. A Memorial Mass will be 11:00am Saturday, October 29, 2011 at St. Mary of The Mount in Horseshoe Bend, Arkansas. Burial rights will follow in LaFayette, LA at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials masses may be made to St. Mary of the Mount in Horseshoe Bend, AR, 1002 First Street, Horseshoe Bend, AR 72512.
