The Life of Loiston B Belaire

Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 5, 2011 at a 10:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial in Martin & Castille's La Fleur de Lis Chapel in Lafayette, for Loiston B. Belaire, age 73, who passed away on Friday, December 2, 2011 at his residence in Lafayette. Interment will be in Lafayette Memorial Park Cemetery. Reverend Gilbert Dutel, Pastor of St. Edmond Catholic Church in Lafayette, will be the Celebrant of the Funeral Mass and will conduct the funeral services. Giftbearers will be Bryson Belaire and Brandon Belaire. Lectors will be Nonnie and Raymond Belaire-Berard. Jodi Bollich, organist, will sing for the services, "Amazing Grace", "Make Me A Channel Of Your Peace", "My Way"-by Frank Sinatra,"The Lord's Prayer" and "The Wind Beneath My Wings". Survivors include the mother of his children, Justine Belaire-Yancey of San Antonio, Texas; one daughter, Melody Belaire of Katy, Texas; one son, Rodney Belaire and Allie Williams of San Antonio, Texas; grandchildren, Raymond Berard of Dallas, Texas, Nonnie Berard of Breaux Bridge, LA, Bryson Belaire of Basile, LA, and Brandon Belaire of San Antonio,Texas, and one expectant grandchild; four sisters, Oline Guidry of Cecilia, LA and her husband, Malven, Iva Mae Theriot and her husband, Pierre of Catahoula, LA, Elmae Picard and her husband, Purvis of New Iberia, LA and Sadia Guilbeau of Alexandria, LA; one brother, Earles Belaire and his wife, Merline of Breaux Bridge, LA. and his companion, Barbara Molbert of Lafayette, LA. He was preceded in death by his parents, Placide Belaire and the former, Emma Landry, his second wife, Bertha Belaire; one brother, Clevens Belaire and one sister, Earline Degaterre. Mr. Belaire was born on August 21, 1938 in Parks, Louisiana and was a resident of Lafayette, Louisiana for most of his life.He was a veteran of military service and proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army during the Asian conflicts. Prior to his retirement, Mr. Belaire worked for the Borden's Milk Company for 30 years. He was a member of St. Edmond Catholic Church. Mr. Belaire loved crossword puzzles and taking care of his pets. He was an acting member of the Hub City AA. Pallbearers will be Ricky Vincent, Raymond Berard, Nick Guilbeau, Bryson Belaire, Willis Guidry and Jay Guilbeau. Honorary Pallbearer will be Brandon Belaire. The family requests that visitation be observed in Martin & Castille's SOUTHSIDE location on Saturday from 11:00 AM to 9:00 PM, Sunday from 11:00 AM until 9:00 PM and on Monday from 8:00 AM until time of service.
