The Life of Margo Ann Simien

Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 21, 2008 at a 2:00 PM Mass of Christian Burial in Holy Cross Catholic Church in Lafayette for Margo Ann St. Julian Simien, 46, who died on Tuesday, November 18, 2008 in Lafayette.Interment will be in Lafayette Memorial Park Cemetery.Reverend Howard Blessing, Pastor of Holy Cross Catholic Church, will be the Celebrant of the funeral Mass and will conduct the funeral services. Lectors will be Clyde Simien II and Sade’ Simien. Giftbearers will be Clyde Simien, Clyde Simien II, Sade’ Simien, Alyce Simien, Nolan St. Julian, Doris St. Julian, Vincent Simien and Mercedes Simien. Eulogist will be Nolan St. Julian, Jr. Karen Broussard, organist and soloist, will sing for the services, “Amazing Grace”, “His Eye Is On The Sparrow”, “I Believe” and “I Surrender All”.She is survived by her beloved husband of 22 years, Clyde R. Simien; two daughters, Sade’ Simien and Alyce Simien; one son, Clyde Simien II, all of Lafayette; her parents Nolan St. Julian and Doris Senegal St. Julian of Lafayette; one sister, Lisa St. Julian Young of Atlanta, Georgia; two brothers, Nolan St. Julian, Jr. and his spouse, Terita of Huntsville, Alabama and Michael St. Julian and his spouse, Betty of Lafayette; her father and mother-in-law, Vincent and Mercedes Simien of Opelousas; three brothers-in-law, Donald Simien, Keith Simien and his spouse, Jackie all of Opelousas and Gregory Simien of Lafayette; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends.A native and lifelong resident of Lafayette, Louisiana, Mrs. Simien was a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, daughter-in-law, sister-in-law and friend to all who knew her. She was a member of the Holy Cross Catholic Church Community in Lafayette, where she also taught religion. Mrs. Simien was very active in the community, especially with Ascension Episcopal School (AES) and the Episcopal School of Acadiana (ESA). She received a BS Degree in Business Administration from USL, where she was a member of the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority. Mrs. Simien worked for over five years in management for the J.C. Penney Retail Stores in Lafayette and Port Arthur, Texas. She went on to work in retail banking at MidSouth National Bank for over 12 years, but found her true calling as a loving and devoted mother and spent her remaining years doting after her three beautiful children. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, especially her husband and children, whom she adored. She will be dearly missed not only by family and friends, but by all of those whose lives she has touched throughout the years.Pallbearers will be Donald Simien, Keith Simien, Gregory Simien, Nolan St. Julian, Jr., Michael St. Julian, Rickey Miniex, Joseph Floyd Johnson and Cedrick St. Julian. Honorary Pallbearers will be  Tony Arceneaux, Nicholas Antoine, Tyrone Mouton, Larry Senegal, Tony Antoine, Lisa Woodruff-White, Lezlye D. Miller, Lisa St. Julian Young, Norbert Young, Jr., and Tyrell St. Julian.A Rosary will be prayed on Friday, November 21, 2008 at 11:00 AM in Martin & Castille Funeral Home in Lafayette.The family requests that visitation be observed on Friday, November 21, 2008 from 9:00 AM until time of services.The family would like to thank the staff and physicians at Lafayette General Medical Center for their care and compassion given to Margo and her family during their time of need. The family would like to give special thanks to Vincent and Mercedes Simien, Nolan and Doris St. Julian, and all of the Simien / St. Julian extended family and Pat Cutrer, for their continued love and support, and always being there for her during this difficult time, Valerie and Rickey Miniex, who were always by her side throughout the years, Pat Dickens at Ascension Episcopal School for all of his words of encouragement and Gale and Jeff Rhoades for their kindness and support throughout the years.   Martin & Castille - Lafayette, 337-234-2311
