The Life of Karen Faye Brasseaux
Funeral services will be held today, Friday, August 8, 2008, at 1:00 PM in East Bayou Baptist Church in Lafayette, for Karen Faye Brasseaux, 50, who passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 6, 2008 at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center in Lafayette.
Interment will be in Lafayette Memorial Park. Reverend Mike Walker, Senior Pastor of East Bayou Baptist Church in Lafayette, along with Reverend Beryl Adams, of First Baptist Church in Church Point, will conduct the funeral services. The East Bayou Music Ministry Team, accompanied by Tonya Jagneaux, pianoist, will sing "Precious Memories" for the services.
Survivors include her beloved husband, Blane Brasseaux; two sons, Brett Brasseaux and Trent Brasseaux, both of Lafayette; father, Dupre' Broussard; two sisters, Bonnie Venable and her husband Pete of Lafayette and Velma LeBlanc and her husband Joseph of Nederland, TX; one brother-in-law, Daniel Broussard of Scott; two sister-in-laws Marla Jagneaux and husband Richard of Church Point, and Sandra Elkins and husband Lonnie of Rayne; and five very special, lifelong family friends, Linda and John Campbell, Pat and Jody Boudreaux, Dr. David and Diane Legendre and their respected families.She was preceded in death by her mother, Eugenie Vincent Broussard; and one sister, Shirley Broussard.
A lifelong resident of Lafayette, Karen Brasseaux was a member of East Bayou Baptist Church in Lafayette and was a wonderful volunteer and "STM Mom". She enjoyed playing sports and surrounding herself with family and friends.Mrs. Brasseaux was a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister and a genuine friend to her family and friends. She will be dearly missed by family, friends and all who knew her.
Pallbearers will be Mark Broussard, Bobby Holden, Bill Heim, Joey LeBlanc, John Campbell, Jody Boudreaux and Troy Elkins.Honorary Pallbearers will be Brandon Heim, Trevor Hebert, Culley Holden, Cruz Holden, Tate Broussard and Cade Broussard.
A Rosary was prayed Thursday, August 7, 2008 at 7:00 PM in Martin & Castille Funeral Home. Visitation was observed on Thursday from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM and will continue today, Friday, from 8:00 AM until time of service.
