The Life of Glenda Gale Andrus

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Tuesday, May 20, 2008 in the Delhomme Chapel of the Flowers for G. Gale Andrus, 63, who passed away on Friday, May 16, 2008 at her residence. Reverend Steve Horn, Pastor of First Baptist Church of Lafayette, will conduct the funeral services. Interment will take place in Lafayette Memorial Park. Gale, a native of Bryan, Texas and a resident of Lafayette, was the daughter of the late Harold Goree of New Orleans and the former Myrtle White of Iola, Texas. Gale was a member of First Baptist Church of Lafayette where she taught Sunday school for 45 years from infants to the sunset years. She was active in CWA. She was employed by Foster Marketing Communications for the past 11 years. Survivors include her mother, Myrtle Goree of Lafayette; two daughters, Mechyel Jones and her husband, David of Carencro, and Kalisté Gummer and her husband, Brett of Lafayette; one son, Jason Andrus of Texas; two grandchildren, Brendan Carr, and EmmaLee Jones; and two brothers, Harold Goree, II and his wife, Leslie of Cade, and Bryan Goree and his wife, Katha of Patterson. She was preceded in death by her father, Harold Goree. The family requests that visiting hours be observed Monday from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm and continue Tuesday from 8:00 am until time of service. In lieu of Flowers memorial contributions may be sent in the name of G. Gale Andrus to Acadiana Crisis Pregnancy Center, 913 South College Road, Suite 206, Lafayette, Louisiana 70503.
