The Life of Myrtle Stephens

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am Tuesday, April 29, 2008 at Asbury United Methodist Church for Myrtle Holley Stephens, 84, who passed away Saturday, April 26, 2008 at Lafayette General Medical Center.

Reverend Ira Robinson and Reverend Ann Sutton, Associate Pastors at Asbury United Methodist Church, will officiate at the services.

Interment will take place at Lafayette Memorial Park Cemetery.

Myrtle, the daughter of the late Robert Fulton Holley of Ashland, AL and the former Callie Delene Culver of Rockford, AL, was a native of Verbena, AL and a resident of Lafayette. She was an active member of Asbury United Methodist Church whom attained many friends that she loved dearly. She was an active volunteer with several community organizations. Myrtle will be missed by her family and friends.

Survivors include her two sons, John W. Stephens and wife, Ann of Marietta, GA and Robert H. Stephens and wife, Debbie of Rockdale, TX; one grandson, Matthew Stephens; and one sister, Eunice Withrow of Greensboro, GA.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, John W. Stephens, one sister and one brother.

The family requests visiting hours be observed on Monday from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm.

Memorial contributions may be made in the name of Myrtle Holley Stephens to the Asbury Building Fund, 101 Live Oak Blvd., Lafayette, LA 70503.

Delhomme Funeral Home, 1011 Bertrand Drive, Lafayette is in charge of all funeral arrangements.
